Come join the 2024 SIIM Hackathon - 100% free, hybrid format
Society of Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) extends an open invitation to its 11th Annual Hackathon event #SIIMHacks, taking place June 20-29, 2024. The event is open to all who are interested in medical imaging and health IT. There are no costs to participate. Our hackathon differs from others, focusing less on competition, and more on collaboration and education.
2024’s Hackathon follows a hybrid format. Meaning, all mandatory activities will be taking place virtually/online. However, for those attending the SIIM 2024 Conference, there will be optional in-person activities specific to the hackathon.
Students are especially encouraged to participate in the SIIM hackathon. It presents an opportunity to network with industry experts and future peers, opening their eyes to real-world problems in need of solutions, in addition to instilling a sense of community. Students can expand their network while learning more about imaging informatics through FREE SIIM Membership.

Judging Criteria
-
Innovation and originality
Is the app providing a creative, new approach of doing things or simply improving an existing solution/workflow? How different is it to products/solutions that may already exist? -
Practicality and usefulness
Think about the problem solved or business potential... Is this something medical professionals and/or patients would find applicable? Does it have the potential of driving real-world impact sooner than later? -
Utilization of APIs (FHIR®, DICOMweb™...etc)
Does the app promote a good use case for demonstrating the ease-of-use and interoperability of the next generation, web-based medical APIs? Is it making use of more than one API to paint a fuller picture? -
Overall
Perhaps the app excels in another area that does not fall into another criterion.
